DMJ & Co., PLLC Names Two New Partners
North Carolina Accounting Firm Adds Partners in Durham Office
DURHAM, NC. October 2021 – DMJ & Co., PLLC (DMJ), a U.S. Top 300 North Carolina CPA and accounting firm, is pleased to announce that Drew Steel, CPA and Jeff Marko, CPA have been named partners with DMJ & Co., PLLC, effective November 1, 2021.
Drew and Jeff previously served as Senior Tax Managers in DMJ’s Durham, North Carolina office. DMJ established an office to serve the Triangle region in 2016 and has grown to more than twenty (20) firm members offering tax compliance, planning, consulting, and audit and accounting services among industry leaders and individuals. Along with DMJ Partner, Susan Miller, CPA; Drew and Jeff have focused on expanding the firm’s traditional accounting services with deeper practice areas, such as international tax consulting, outsourced accounting, succession planning, audits, reviews, and other services.

Andrew (Drew) Steel, CPA is an experienced tax and accounting professional with more than fifteen (15) years of public accounting experience, working directly on individual taxation and taxation of closely-held businesses for a variety of industries, including hospitality, construction, professional services, and manufacturing with multi-state operations. Drew also specializes in leading many clients through international tax consultation, compliance, and preparation. Prior to joining DMJ in 2017, Drew worked for a mid-sized public accounting firm in Danbury, Connecticut as an Accounting Manager. Drew is a licensed CPA in both Connecticut and North Carolina.
Drew holds a bachelor’s degree in business management with an accounting concentration from Southern Connecticut State University. He also completed an MBA in business management with a concentration in accounting from Southern Connecticut State University. Drew served as a Sargent in the Army Reserves as a motor transportation operator for eleven (11) years, which included an 18-month tour to Kuwait, Iraq, and surrounding countries. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. Active in his community, Drew serves on several boards of directors and is a graduate of Leadership North Carolina.
Jeff Marko, CPA is an experienced tax and accounting professional who has spent his career working with an array of clients, including large multi-state C corporations, closely-held S corporations, partnerships, sole proprietorships, trusts, and individuals. Jeff provides a variety of services, including international and domestic tax compliance, business entity structure and planning, merger and acquisition consulting, ASC 740 tax provision services, business and individual tax planning, and IRS correspondence. Prior to joining DMJ in 2018, Jeff worked for a nationally recognized accounting firm in Raleigh, NC as a Tax Manager.
Jeff earned a B.S. and M.S. degree in accounting from North Carolina State University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. Jeff was recently named a member of Leadership North Carolina Class XXIX and serves as a member of the Housing for New Hope Board Finance Committee in Durham.
